Yankees put Teixeira on DL, Sabathia nears return from injury

Sporting a brace on his right knee, New York Yankees lefty CC Sabathia threw a four-inning, 60-pitch simulated game Friday without pain, while first baseman Mark Teixeira was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a bruised right shin.
